Parenting: Be strict once... it won't be forgotten!

We all know it, be strict, be consequent. Easier said than done. I was never sure until last night how true this story was. I have heard it so many times and thought maybe it was a family urban legend. My Mom wins the prize in consequence and was a master of making her point. Read and be inspired about how a mother of eleven made her point and for years she had less work because of one simple action. I don't think I would have pulled this off but man I have respect for her. By the time I came around I didn't need to test things, I heard the stories and knew and I would have never dared. My older brothers and sisters paved the way, got punished, I learned and this legend came to be.

Not a perfect parent!

I remember my parents leaving me at home as they drove off to see Star Wars in 1977. They thought it might be to violent and I was only seven. The things we do as parents we do because we believe they are the right thing. I survived childhood and my parents made mistakes. You will too and your kids will survive as well. Parenting is hard, didn't anyone tell you?

Dinnertime Battles

Playing in the snow after a Thanksgiving dinner. Some of the best Thanksgivings. I loved goofing around with my siblings and roughhousing. Even though we have fun together we are all opinionated and a serious discussion might erupt. If your family has been in heated discussions over the last week you are not alone.
